Power being restored in Jefferson, Grainger counties

Local News
Power Outage - Stock

More than 11,000 Appalachian Electric customers in Jefferson and Grainger counties were without power Friday afternoon.

By 3 p.m., power had been restored to nearly all customers.

A spokesperson says they lost a transmission line and two substations, mainly affecting the Dandridge and Oak Grove areas.

They believe wind to have caused the outage but have not confirmed that.
