‘Princess Project’ helps Knox County students find prom dresses

Local News

A prom dress project WATE 6 On Your Side helped launch last year is back. The Princess Project provides a prom dress and alterations, free of charge, to any junior or senior in a Knox County high school.

Anchor Lori Tucker spoke to students at Powell High School to let them know about the Princess Project.

The co-founders, Pastor Todd Stinnett of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church and local stylist Lindsay Maples also explained how the program works and brought some of the many new or gently used dresses that have been donated by members of the community.
Last year, hundreds of dresses of all sizes and colors were brought in to the church, and this year is no different.

If you’re in need of a prom dress, make an appointment by calling 865-689-5397 or schedule online at www.bohbc.org.
