Proposed renovations to downtown Knoxville hotel approved

Local News

Knoxville’s City Council has voted to approve plans to renovate and re-brand a downtown Knoxville hotel.

The 6-to-3 vote paves the way for the Holiday Inn on Henley Street to be rebranded into a full-service Mariott Hotel.

Work on the existing 286-room hotel would include updating the guest rooms, restaurant, lounge area and meeting spaces.

The building’s exterior and parking garage would also be renovated.

Construction is expected to begin by next January with a completion date of June 2021.
