A Roane County man was found guilty Friday of starving his 2-year-old son to death back in 2012.
It took only one hour for a Roane County jury to deliberate on convicting Matthew Dotson on multiple counts of murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect.
Dotson was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

Dotson’s son, Clifford, died of extreme malnutrition on May 3, 2012. The boy’s mother, Dotson’s wife, Amanda Dotson was convicted in the fall of 2018 of facilitation of murder in the starvation death of Clifford and was sentenced 40 years to prison.
