Deputies say charges are pending after a one-year-old child in Roane County may have overdosed on Suboxone.
The Roane County Sheriff’s Office says it was called to a home in Rockwood on January 31. When they and ambulance workers arrived, they said the child was having symptoms not typical of a child that age. They then discovered the child may have ingested Suboxone.
The child was flown to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital by Lifestar helicopter. Officials say the child is out of the hospital and doing well.
The sheriff’s office is working with District Attorney General Russell Johnson, as well as the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services.
The investigation is ongoing.
