‘Run for the Wall’ veteran’s group makes stop in Knoxville

Local News

Riders with an annual cross-country trek to honor our nation’s veterans made a stop Tuesday in Knoxville.

The 30th annual Run for the Wall began in California with the Military Veteran Motorcycle Brigade making it to Washington, D.C. for Memorial Day.

There are three different routes and the Midway Group made a stop Tuesday for lunch at the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial. There was also a wreath laying ceremony.

Riders say every stop makes an impact on them.

“This run has changed my life. This is my 16th year on the run. From the first one to now, it touches me every single year,” said Vietnam veteran Michael Huber.

The group’s motto is “We ride for those who can’t.” The trip takes 10 days and the group should be in DC by this weekend.
