On Thursday, Knox County Rural Metro Fire celebrated the opening of its newest – and largest – fire station No. 36.
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs and others were in attendance, all held the ribbon that was cut to commemorate the station’s official opening for calls.
Station No. 36 will serve the northern part of Knox County. Rural Metro Fire officials say the location is perfectly suited to serve the area, mainly because of growth.
Rural Metro is also building another new station that will be a relocation of Station No. 27.
