The Sears at West Town Mall has now closed for good.
WATE 6 On Your Side was there Tuesday as workers removed the “Sears” sign from the building at around 2 p.m.
After long delays in bankruptcy court, the company announced it was accepting a bid to buy the company.
The deal will keep approximately 425 stores open, but the West Town Sears was not part of that group.
But, shoppers will still have plenty of places to go at the site. While Sears is moving out of the mall, Bliss is moving in.
The first Bliss store opened on Market Square back in 2003, then the Bliss Home in West Knoxville opened in 2008.
The West Town Mall location of Bliss will focus on women’s apparel, shoes, jewelry, innovative gifts, and accessories.
