Sevierville police seek hit and run crash suspect

Local News

The Sevierville Police Department  and Tennessee Highway Patrol are asking for the public’s help as they seek the suspect believed to be involved with a hit-and-run crash of three vehicles, one of which included a marked SPD vehicle.

Police say that early Sunday morning between 2:15-2:30 a.m. on Park Road, a red 1999-2006 Chevy/GM pickup truck is believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run crash. Investigators think the truck’s driver lost control of the vehicle, entered a parking area of the Ridgecrest Apartments, hitting a jet ski and knocking it into a nearby apartment unit; then striking a SPD Explorer, causing it to push into another truck.

The suspected red truck then fled the scene.

The suspected red truck likely sustained significant passenger side damage (full length of the vehicle), police say, plus is missing the right headlight assembly and has a broken window (suspected to be the front passenger window).

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.

Anyone with information as to the location of the suspect red truck or the truck’s driver is asked to contact THP Trooper James Fox at james.a.fox@tn.gov or 865-594-5800 ext. 1154.
