Sheriff seeking man who assaulted homeowner, stole her car

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who broke into a home in north Knox County, assaulted the homeowner, then stole her car. 

Around 2:30 p.m. on May 29, deputies say the suspect entered a home in the 1500 block of Dry Gap Pike in an attempt to rob the homeowner. The suspect assaulted the homeowner and stole her 2001 Honda Civic.

The suspect is a white male who stands 5’8″ and 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 190-200 pounds. He has brown hair and has a large red mark on his left cheek.
