KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A small earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon in the Hardin Valley area of Knox County.
The 2.6 magnitude quake was recorded at 1:31 p.m. The epicenter was located on Covered Bridge Boulevard just off Hardin Valley Road.
Small quakes are common in the East Tennessee Seismic Zone. The source of seismic activity in the zone is still not known.
