The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has announced a temporary closure of Cove Creek Road this week.
The road leading into the Cataloochee area of the park will be closed from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
This will allow the North Carolina Department of Transportation to do geotechnical work at the site of a landslide.
According to the park, the closure will not affect people living in the area. Visitors looking to travel to the Cataloochee area during the closure should use Mount Sterling Road.
