Former Tennessee state senator Stacey Campfield filed paperwork on Thursday to run as the state representative for Tennessee’s 89th district.

Campfield, who served as the senator representing Tennessee’s seventh district from 2010 to 2014, was also the state representative for Tennessee’s eight district from 2005 to 2010. Campfield lost his bid for reelection to Richard Briggs in 2014.

Roger Kane, the current representative for Tennessee’s 89th district, decided to run for Knox County Clerk, which will leave his seat vacant. Campfield will face off against fellow Republicans Tim Hutchison, Justin Lafferty, Jesse Nelson, Guy L. Smoak and Democrats Keifel Agostini and Coleen Martinez for the seat.

The 89th district comprises much of west Knox County north of Interstate 40, including Farragut.
