Suspect and victim in Monday’s stabbing incident knew each other

Knoxville Police Department investigators responded to a report of a stabbing in the 4700 block of Central Avenue Pike in North Knoxville Monday evening.

According to KPD, officers spoke with a woman at a restaurant off the Clinton Highway, after she had sustained several minor cuts to her left hand. She told police the incident occurred at House of Fades Barbershop, which is located at 4701 Central Avenue Pike. 

The assault occurred after a verbal argument and the victim and suspect were acquaintances, according to KPD’s report. 

The woman was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment via AMR ambulance.

Investigators and forensic technicians are still investigating the incident as of late Monday night. KPD did not state if the suspect had been questioned.
