Two suspects are in the hospital following a crash while attempting to flee from law enforcement Wednesday night.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit began after deputies saw a vehicle running a red light and driving recklessly. An officer stopped the vehicle on westbound Middlebrook Pike and the suspects drove off.
They tried to turn left on Knott Road at a high rate of speed, lost control of the car and went down the nearby embankment, striking a tree. The car then caught on fire.
The suspects then ran off. They were caught after short chase. One suspect had outstanding warrants.
A large amount of narcotics were found in the car.
KCSO stated they would update with more information as it become available.
