Bristol police have charged three men with using card skimmers to steal people’s credit card information.

The three suspects were recently arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 81 by the White Pine Police Department. The suspects are Uver Alexander Valera, 29 of Sarasota; Elver Perez Suarez, 36 of Louisville, Kentucky; and Renier Ramirez Rodriquez, 30 of Louisville, Kentucky.

An investigation by several law enforcement agencies led to a search warrant being executed at an apartment in Knoxville. Police say they found eight gas pump skimmers, several laptops, a magnetic credit card reader/writer, re-coded credit cards, $17,680 in cash, and other items.

The Bristol Police Department has charged all three suspects with multiple counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Identity Theft, Theft Under $1000, and Criminal Conspiracy. They are accused of using stolen credit card numbers at retail locations in Bristol, Tennessee and Virginia.

Police believe the suspects had been working the area between Knoxville and Washington County, Virginia.
