A tractor trailer crash that spilled a large amount of debris tied up traffic in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 Friday afternoon in Jefferson County.
The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. near mile marker 416 involving two tractor trailers. Photos from the scene showed pieces of PVC pipe spilled onto the interstate, along with other debris.
All westbound lanes were closed for about an hour, but two lanes are now back open. Traffic is still backing on to I-40W and I-81S. Drivers are urged to use caution.
So far, there is no word on any injuries.
