KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The driver of a semi-truck hauling bread was sent to the hospital Wednesday after a crash in Knoxville.
Police say around 11:45 a.m., the semi-truck hauling a box trailer with various types of bread products was going south on Pleasant Ridge Road near Murray Road when it slipped off the side of the roadway.
The vehicle came back onto the roadway and crossed both lanes of Pleasant Ridge before flipping over, pushing the cab into the trees. The driver, Nashlie Coley, 26, of Alabama, was pinned inside. It took more than an hour to free her.
Coley was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries.
The roadway is expected to be reopened by 5:45 p.m.
