A train derailed Wednesday afternoon near the University of Tennessee campus, but officials say no hazardous materials leaked and no one was hurt.
The Knoxville Fire Department says they were called to Sutherland Avenue at N. Concord Street around 2:34 p.m. where they found seven train cars in various stages of derailment.
One was carrying butyric acid, three were carrying acidic adahydrine and three were empty.
The Knoxville Police Department says to expect extended road closures and delays in the area. Concord Street is currently closed, but Sutherland has reopened.
