Traveling replica Vietnam Memorial Wall arrives in East Tennessee

A traveling half-sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall is currently on display in East Tennessee.

The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall, arrived in East Tennessee Thursday. It's the latest stop is at Walters State Community College in Morristown.

East Tennesseans gathered inside the college yesterday to honor service men and women killed in the Vietnam war.

Their names etched on the small replica of the national memorial that's been touring the country for nearly 30 years. 1300 of those names represent Tennesseans.

Many Veterans spoke at a ceremony yesterday, sharing stories of their loved ones and hoping to keep their memories alive.

“I never want to forget them,” said Vietnam veteran Captain Bill Robinson. ‘Their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their families for the nation that we have. For the freedoms that we enjoy every day.’"

The wall will be open 24 hours a day until Monday, October 15  for those who want to pay their respects.
