Two recent University of Tennessee graduates have been nominated for an Emmy Award for their work on a Land Grant Film project.
“Welcome Home, Brother” tells the story of three Vietnam veterans and the struggles they faced when they returned back home to the United States.
The 8-minute short film explains in their own words how it felt as an 18-year-old back then serving in the Vietnam War: To be shipped off to war, fight, only to come home and not be recognized for their service.
The film and its directors – UT journalism grads Tim Morris and Isaac Fowler – has been given a nod in the topical documentary category of the Emmys.
Morris, one of the film directors saying, “When we made this documentary, we never expected it to go as far as it has gone. We are just extremely blessed.”
