The University of Tennessee Police Department have put out a statement regarding a report of a suspicious person around the McClung Museum on campus.
On Monday, a person approached a guard at McClung Museum and another student told them a male had asked where the closest exit was. UT officers checked the area but did not make contact with anyone matching the description of the male.
Wednesday, a UTPD investigator was able to speak with the actual person who spoke with the man. She advised the man was outside of the front doors of McClung Museum and asked her if that was the only entrance and exit. She later saw him in the building exiting a restroom.
McClung Museum is an area of the Tennessee campus open to the public.
UT police say there were no threats made or associated with this incident. They say in the statement that no other facts are associated with this incident at this time and urge community members to avoid spreading unsubstantiated information.
