Victim identified in fatal shooting on Forest Edge Way

Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Saturday night that left one dead and another in critical condition on Forest Edge Way.

The shooting happened in the 2700 block of Forest Edge Way.

The man who died has been identified as Lester Ott, 56.

According to reports, two armed men entered a home with bandanas on and shot two people.

Ott was the only victim shot by the suspects. The other victim who is in critical condition was shot as a result of return fire from the homeowner.

Witnesses say they saw a dark-colored vehicle flee the scene. According to Brad Hall, the Acting Chief of Detectives, officers from KCSO’s Digital Intelligence Unit are going through video from surrounding security cameras. 

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
