KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One person has been injured following a shooting at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.

The shooting took place around 4:45 p.m. on May 29 at Victor Ashe Park, in the 4900 block of Bradshaw Road. According to the Knoxville Police Department, one man was reportedly shot and taken to a local hospital. KPD added that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Based on the current investigation, KPD believes the victim “arranged to make a transaction” with two other people in the park. KPD said that the victim was shot after he and “another associate” allegedly tried to rob the two people, who were detained by responding officers.

Police say they have identified everyone involved in the shooting. In addition, no charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
