Woman faces charges after crashing into trooper with 2-year-old in car

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) - A woman is facing charges after she crashed into a trooper while driving with a 2-year-old.

Kimberly Bailey, 39, was charged with reckless endangerment and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after crashing into a trooper's squad car on I-75. 

Bailey was driving southbound on I-75 when she failed to yield to the trooper's car that was stopped to provide traffic control for another trooper assisting a broken down vehicle. She struck the squad car in the right side rear, sending the squad car into the median and her own car facing the wrong way in southbound traffic. 

The trooper was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment. Bailey was transported to Tennova in LaFollette. 

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol says she was traveling with a 2-year-old at the time of the crash. They were reported to be uninjured.

Bailey was given a November 20 court date in Anderson County General Session Court.
