‘You’re on my hit list’: Knox County middle school student accused of threatening teacher

A Knox County middle school student was arrested Monday for threatening to shoot his teacher.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says according to their investigation, the student gestured toward the teacher as if his hand were a gun, pointed it at the teacher and said, “You’re on my hit list.”

Deputies several other students witnessed the incident.

The student has been charged with false reports, a felony. He was taken into custody at his school, which the sheriff’s office did not specify, around 2 p.m. and taken to the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center.

The student is scheduled for a court hearing on Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office is asking parents to speak with their children about the dangers of threatening others.
