A train carrying Republican members of Congress hit a truck near Crozet, Virginia. The train was on its way to West Virginia for a legislative retreat.

The Associated Press reports one person was killed in the crash, but that no lawmakers or staff were seriously injured.

Members on board included House Speaker Paul Ryan and Tennessee representatives Chuck Fleischmann and Phil Roe. All three of the congressmen are doing okay.

Fleischmann tweeted, “I was on the train heading to the GOP Retreat when an accident occurred. I am ok, and working with doctors that have arrived.”

He later tweeted, “I was standing up when the accident happened. A little bit shaken up, and praying for all of my fellow colleagues.” ‘

According to CNN, the Amtrak train left Washington earlier Wednesday and was carrying members of Congress, their family members and aides.

New York Republican John. Faso told CNN “There was (what) looks like a tractor trailer carrying trash that was hit by the train.”
