A least 2 dead after truck drives onto bike path in NYC

NEW YORK CITY (WATE) – Two person are dead and several others injured in New York City after a truck hit multiple people on a bike path in Lower Manhattan, according to ABC News.

The truck struck multiple people on a bike path, before crashing into a school bus. The driver then got out and opened fire, a witness told ABC News.

“Everybody started running,” the witness told ABC. “…Everything was happening so fast.”

One person is in custody. and Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press secretary told ABC News there is no longer an active threat.

The FBI, governor of New York and Mayor de Blasio were headed to the scene shortly after 4 p.m.
