The Powerball lottery jackpot has increased to more than half a billion dollars for Wednesday night’s drawing.
According to Lottery Spokesperson Christian Teja, the jackpot is an estimated $550 million with a cash prize option an estimated $335 million.
Teja said the jackpot is the eighth largest in the game’s history and Wednesday’s drawing will be the 24th since it was last hit on December 26 when a $2.98.3 million winning ticket was sold in New York.
The jackpot is also the game’s largest since October 27 when winning tickets sold in Iowa and New York shared a $687.8 million jackpot.
Powerball tickets can be bought for $2 until 9:50 p.m. Wednesday.
