Justice Dept wants wildfire lawsuit dismissed

Federal attorneys want a court to dismiss a lawsuit over the Gatlinburg wildfires.

One of the two plaintiffs, Michael Reed, who lost his wife and daughters in the fire.

The lawsuit claims the park service failed to give local officials enough notice about the fires and that firefighters didn't know about it until it was too late.

The justice department argues that the lawsuit can't be filed because of a rule that protects federal employees from liability during their duties.
