New York commuters jumped into action to save a man who fell, unconscious, onto the subway tracks near a Brooklyn station. The dramatic rescue was caught on camera.

“I thought the train was going over him, I started crying,” said Liliana Vicente. “I had never seen those things.”

The man fell onto the tracks at the Avenue H Station in Brooklyn and a Manhattan-bound Q Train was coming in.

Fortunately, the train stopped, giving Vicente and another woman time to get down to the tracks and lift the man onto the platform, where other commuters pulled him to safety.

“I think there are still people here in this world,” Vicente said.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he is in serious condition. It’s not clear what caused him to pass out and fall onto the tracks.
