Police believe a serial bank robber who held up a bank in Johnson City earlier this month has targeted yet another bank, this time in Alabama.
According to Central Alabama Crimestoppers, the latest robbery happened last Thursday at a Trustmark Bank in Prattville, about 14 miles from the state capital of Montgomery.
Prattville police believe the robber is the same person who recently targeted banks in Tennessee and North Carolina, according to WSFA.
Two days before the Prattville robbery, on January 8, he held up a US Bank in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
On January 4, he robbed the Mountain Commerce Bank in Johnson City.
Police say he first held up a SunTrust bank in Asheville, N.C. on January 2.
Investigators believe the serial robber is targeting banks along interstate corridors.
The FBI has confirmed it is involved in the case.
Police say the man appears to be between 35 and 50 years old and has a gray goatee. In each of the four robberies, he was seen wearing a black ball cap.
Alabama investigators say he was spotted driving a white SUV.
