New shopping center coming to West Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Knox County Leaders have approved a multi-million dollar shopping center to be built in West Knoxville.

The Grassy Creek development near Schaad Road and Oak Ridge Highway was approved by the Knox County Commission Tuesday.

Developers were granted a $2.5 million tax break.

The project promises more restaurants, shopping and a new Food City grocery store at the 30-acre site

Construction on the project will begin in September. It is being developed by the Maddox Companies.
