KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The personnel file of one of former Knox County purchasing director Hugh Holt’s subordinates reveals the accusations that led to his dismissal.

The file of the female employee reveals allegations of, among other things, a hostile work environment created by Holt. The employee said Holt called her “butch” and a “lesbian” at work. She also said he signed all her old boyfriends’ names to a birthday card and once joked that now that same sex marriage was legal, she should have one.Previous story: Knox County purchasing director resigns over harassment allegations, then hired by sheriff’s office

The employee also accused Holt of sending her packages of underpads and adult diapers saying she “smelled of urine” and that he had ignored her requests for the name calling and harassment to stop.

A human resources investigation found a majority of the claims believable and recommended Holt’s immediate termination.

Holt resigned from his position last week to avoid termination, but was immediately hired in a similar position by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
