GATLINBURG (WATE) – WATE 6 On Your Side reporter Madisen Keavy was able to go up in the Space Needle in Gatlinburg for a bird’s eye view of what was and what wasn’t damaged during last week’s wildfire.

She said you could plainly see the path of the fire, what burned and what didn’t. Downtown Gatlinburg is undamaged for the most part, and what damage exists is from ash and soot. Current estimates say nearly 1,800 buildings were either damaged or destroyed by the fire.More coverage: Wildfires
