Knoxville mayor, city council candidates set

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Now we know who will be running for Mayor Knoxville and City Council this year.

The petition deadline passed Thursday and the ballot has been set, according to the Knox County Election Commission.

Here is the list of candidates on the ballot for the Knoxville city primary election in August.

Candidates for Knoxville Mayor:

Michael W. Andrews
Fletcher “Knoxville” Burkhardt
Indya Kincannon 
Eddie Mannis
Calvin Taylor Skinner
Marshall Stair

City Council At Large Seat A:

Lynne Fugate
Charles F. Lomax Jr.

City Council At Large Seat B:

David Hayes
Janet Testerman

City Council At Large Seat C:

Amy Midis 
Amelia Parker
Hubert (Frazier) Smith
Bob Thomas
David Williams

City Council District 5:

Charles Al-Bawi
Charles Thomas

Municipal Judge: 

John R. Rosson, Jr. 

All terms of office are four years.

Early voting for the primary begins Aug. 7 and ends Aug. 22. Election day is Aug. 27.

The city general election will be Nov. 5 and the general election ballot will include:

* City Mayor only if one candidate did not receive a majority of votes in the primary.

* Top two primary candidates for City Council Seat A

* Top two primary candidates for City Council Seat B

* Top two primary candidates for City Council Seat C

* Top two primary candidates for City Council District 5

* Municipal Judge if one candidate did not receive a majority of the vote in the primary.
