The Senate Appropriations Committee has announced Senator Lamar Alexander will again serve as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development for the 116th Congress.
Sen. Alexander says he’s looking forward to continuing to serve as a chairman, sharing his plans for the future.
“This year, we should resolve the more than 30-year stalemate over how to dispose of used nuclear fuel,” Alexander said. “I support proceeding on all fronts, funding Yucca Mountain, as well as storing used nuclear fuel at interim storage sites and at private facilities.”
Senator Alexander was also re-elected as Chairman of Health Committee for 116th Congress.
He is already the chairman of the Senate health, education, labor and pensions committee, the energy and natural resources committee as well as the rules and administration committee.
