RAM holds their annual “Salute to Service”

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Remote Area Medical held their annual D-Day event entitled “Salute to Service,” Saturday.

It took place at the Island Home Airport in South Knoxville from 10 am until 2 pm.

This event was in observance of the 72nd anniversary of D-Day and honored this country’s military veterans.

The ceremony concluded with a RAM Airborne Delivery Team parachuting onto the airfield immediately following the ceremony.

This event was free and open to the public.

Remote Area Medical is a publicly supported charity taking free medical, dental, vision, and veterinary care to impoverished and geographically isolated people in the U.S. and other countries.
