Roane County commissioner arrested on DUI charge

HARRIMAN (WATE) – A Roane County commissioner was arrested Monday night on a DUI charge.

Gregory E. Ferguson, 59, was pulled over by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper just after 6 p.m. on Highway 70 at Old Harriman Highway.

The trooper said probable cause existed to arrest the driver and did so.

Ferguson was charged with driving under the influence.

He was elected to Roane County’s District 2 last August. Roane County Executive Ron Woody did not wish to comment on the arrest.
