School board approves Lonsdale Park land swap proposal

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The Knox County School Board unanimously voted Wednesday night to pass a land swap that transfers the Lonsdale Park property from the city to the county.

The exchange transferring the land is for the Sam E. Hill Primary School property.

The school board’s deal with the county is for building a new Lonsdale Elementary school.

Replacing that school is part of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan approved by the school board back in April.
