KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A selfie posted to Facebook landed a convicted felon from Knoxville behind bars.
Malik First Born Allah Farrad, also known as Marvin Maurice Buckles, was found guilty Wednesday of being a felon in possession of a firearm in U.S. Federal Court.
According to federal court documents, law enforcement discovered several photos posted to Facebook, showing Farrad in possession of a semiautomatic pistol. Other photos showed him in possession of other guns. One showed three different guns, including the semiautomatic one, inside Farrad’s bathroom. Two others showed a firearm on his floor.
Two other photographs showed the stovetop in Farrad’s apartment, on top of which was the semiautomatic firearm, a second firearm seen in other pictures, large amounts of cash, and a bagged substance that appears to be marijuana.
Sentencing is set for October 29.
