KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A road has been closed Wednesday due to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in Sevier County, according to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire department has posted on social media about a fatal accident in Seymour on Chapman Highway near Macon Lane. The crash closed part of the road this evening.

According to Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Mark Nagi, all lanes opened around 10:19 p.m.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently on the scene conducting an investigation.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Larry Hurst was killed in the crash.
