PIGEON FORGE (WATE) – Dolly Parton was a guest on a Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM radio channel Radio Andy on Friday, and it was all recorded from inside Dollywood.
For about an hour and a half they chatted on stage at the DreamSong Theatre inside Dollywood. One of the first topics of discussion was Parton’s upcoming tour which will bring her back to Pigeon Forge in November.
“We were calling the show Pure and Simple because it’s kind of a stripped down show. We don’t have all the bells and whistles and smoke and fire,” Parton said.
They also took some questions from some lucky audience members chosen by Sirius XM to be there.
“What is the one thing in life that has kept you going so strong for so long?” one person asked. Parton answered, “Well I think probably my faith, my faith in God first of all, and my faith in myself, and my faith in what I feel like is my God given talent.”
Peggy Stone from Knoxville was one of those selected.
“I found out yesterday afternoon that I had been selected and I dropped everything and came out here,” she said.
Stone brought her friend Ann Ward along.

“It was great. I mean she’s tiny! She’s a tiny person, and she was just so gracious and friendly,” Ward said.
It was Andy Cohen’s first time interviewing Dolly for his radio show and his first time visiting Dollywood.
“It was a great joy interviewing her, for 90 minutes I should add. She’s an open book, and she’s a lot of fun. I happen to be a huge fan,” he said. “It’s been so fun and really I can say without being schmaltzy I think Dollywood is really more than just an amusement park. It’s a celebration of the area.”Previous story:Dolly Parton and husband to celebrate 50th anniversary with wedding
