A 3-year-old child died Saturday evening after being found unresponsive in a pool at his home.
Police and EMS responded to a call around 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Rocky Mountain Parkway.
Police said the child was found in unresponsive in the pool. He was transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Neighbors were shocked to hear the news.
“I just think it’s a horrible situation,” one neighbor told News 2. “It’s horrible. A kid we see all the time playing in my neighborhood.”
Metro Police youth services detectives are investigating the circumstances of the death. Charges could potentially be filed if negligence played a part in the incident.
