A career criminal with more than 60 prior convictions has added another 29 felony convictions to his record.
After a 4-day trial, Curtis Burnside was convicted of 12 counts of burglary and 17 counts of felony theft. That makes a total of 93 felony convictions for Burnside.
According to the District Attorney’s office, Burnside was convicted of committing more than 30 separate offenses against businesses in Knoxville during a five-month crime spree.
Surveillance video of captured Burnside stealing a TV from Walmart. We’re told he stole from Walmart 12 separate times.
He stole from several other stores totaling more than $16,000 worth of merchandise.
Burnside faces 12 years in prison for each burglary count and six years for each felony theft count.
