According to Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson, a body has been found in the Vossburg, MS area. It is believed to be the body of TN murder suspect, Casey Lawhorn, who was on the run since Sunday Morning after he allegedly killed his mother and friend before posting a message on Facebook detailing the crime.

Casey Lawhorn, 23, of East Ridge near Chattanooga, shot his mother, Vi Lawhorn, and a friend, who has not been identified.

Lawhorn called the East Ridge Police Department and told them he shot and killed two people, according to East Ridge Assistant Police Chief Stan Allen.

Police arrived on the scene and knocked on the door. When no one answered, they forced entry and found two people dead inside a home on John Ross road.

Allen said Lawhorn told officers he was driving to a remote location to commit suicide.

He traveled South and his car was later found on I-59 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

Lawhorn was not in the vehicle and several agencies are on the scene.

At this time, Lawhorn is armed and considered very dangerous.

If anyone has any information on Lawhorn contact the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department 601-764-2588.
