Gov.-elect Lee appoints former Knoxville deputy mayor to cabinet

Tennessee Governor-elect Bill Lee has named a Knox County business owner and former Knoxville deputy mayor to his cabinet. 

Lee announced Thursday that Christi Branscom will serve as the head of the Tennessee Department of General Services.

Branscom currently serves as the chief operating officer and general counsel at Partners Development. Previously, Branscom served as the chief operating officer and deputy mayor for the City of Knoxville, where she was the first female in Knoxville history to serve in this role.

She has also served the City of Knoxville as the senior director of public works and was also the first female in Knoxville history to serve in this role. 

Branscom founded Grace Construction in 2003 which specializes in custom home construction. 

The governor-elect’s office also announced two other appointments Thursday. 

Dr. Lisa Piercey will serve as the Tennessee Department of Health head and Brad Turner will lead the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Services.
