TWRA: Man breaks yellow perch fishing record

Tennessee

A man from Michigan now holds a state fishing record in Tennessee.

This new record was set by Jeremy Lorenze for catching a 2 lb., 5 oz. yellow perch in southeast Tennessee on the Ocoee River on March 26.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) confirming and certifying the record Tuesday morning. The yellow perch’s weight breaking the previous record by 2 ounces.

We’re told angler Lorenze was visiting his cousin for a few days, and after purchasing just a 3-day fishing license, caught the record-breaking fish near the Ocoee Dam, east of Chattanooga.
