CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say they have arrested a Tennessee woman already charged with the hit-and-run death of a Tennessee officer after she violated her bond conditions by testing positive for alcohol use during a drug screening.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press , court documents show the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Janet Hinds on Friday. She had been out on bond with a GPS and alcohol-monitoring bracelet. She’ll now be held without bail.

The 55-year-old Hixson resident faces multiple charges in the February death of Chattanooga Police Officer Nicholas Galinger, including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and leaving an accident scene with death.

Galinger was inspecting a manhole cover with water flowing from it due to heavy rain.

Hinds’ attorney, Ben McGowan, has said several factors “show this is a tragic and unavoidable accident.”
