Tim Tebow to speak at McMinn County High School


ATHENS (WATE) – Watch out Volunteers, a Gator is coming to East Tennessee.

The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that Tim Tebow will be the speaker for the 10th Annual Benefit on June 25. The benefit starts at 6:00 p.m. at McMinn County High School.

Tebow helped the Florida Gators win 2 BCS Championships and was named Heisman Trophy winner in 2007. Tebow was a 1st round draft pick with the Denver Broncos and led them to the playoffs in 2011. He also worked as a television analyst with the SEC Network.

While active in charity work even in college, Tebow founded the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2010. The faith-based outreach group works with children in need in both the United States and the Philippines, building facilities for sick children, granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and building playrooms in hospitals and orphanages, among other far-reaching charitable works.
